I lost an entire culture
You grew up immersed in your own culture, surrounded by brothers, sisters, and cousins. You have a firm grasp of who you are but remain unaware of my identity. I hold no judgments against you, yet you feel entitled to judge me. What do you truly know about me?
I have endured significant losses:
- I lost an entire culture.
- I lost a whole language.
- I lost my ancestry.
- I lost my family.
- I lost the person I was meant to become.
- I lost the life I was supposed to live.
All of these were taken from me by the devastating force of arrogance, colonization and religion. Therefore, I refuse to apologize for embracing every part of myself that they couldn't take, break, or claim.
I am weary of the phrase, "We disagree politically, but that doesn't mean we can't be friends." If your political beliefs support the notion that children should go hungry, the poor should be homeless, the sick should be denied care, women should lack bodily autonomy, Americans should be restricted in whom they can love, certain individuals should not exist, and the rich are justified in exploiting the young sexually, then our friendship is impossible. Furthermore, if you deny the internationally recognized fact that the terrorists in the Gaza Strip committed war crimes, including murder, torture, hostage abuse, and sexual violence during their October 7 attack on Israel, then we definitely cannot be friends.
I choose to focus on the recovery of both my wife and myself following recent heart procedures. We are adjusting our lifestyle to ensure many more years filled with love and cherished memories. Yes, label me as radical left scum if you must. Peace be with you. ❤️
