Are You A Christian?
Are you a Christian?
No.
Why not?
Look at the MAGAts, Border Patrol, I.C.E., Trump, his sycophants, those who claim to be Evangelicals, read the history of slavery and WWII.
The only conclusion I come to is I am not like these people and if they be Christians, then I am not one of them, even if it means I must go forward alone. Why do Christians in this country vote for policies against everything Jesus taught about treating the "least among us?"
It was Elvis who asked us, what’s so funny 'bout peace love & understanding?

Gandhi said it best: I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ…
Many people, especially ignorant people, want to punish you for speaking the truth, for being correct, for being you. Never apologize for being correct, or for being years ahead of your time. If you're right and you know it, speak your mind. Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is still the truth.
The unscarred by education will always tell you that you are wrong. They say that with no proof, no back up, no fact finding. They say it to you purely because they believe it. That is what faith is about. Believing things because you once heard it even though you have never found proof of it. That is a concept I cannot feel, can never accept. That is a concept termed “religion.”
What I do feel is spirituality. It permeates my body giving me breath and life, the ability to think for myself. The ability to understand things I might not want to. Spirituality does not come from religion. It comes from our soul. We must stop confusing religion and spirituality. Religion is a set of rules, regulations, and rituals created by humans, which were supposed to help people spiritually. Due to human imperfection religion has become corrupt, political, divisive and a tool for power struggle. Spirituality is not theology or ideology. It is simply a way of life, pure and original. Spirituality is a network linking us to the universe, and each other.
Ricky Gervais puts it this way: Remember, whatever happens, God either made it happen or could’ve stopped it if he'd wanted. Or he's useless. Or doesn't exist. Exceptions?
As for my political views: I'm basically against anything that kills people or destroys the planet we live on. If you believe similar, you have my vote.
If what I say offends anyone, good. As Louis SzĂ©kely said, “Offending people is a necessary and healthy act. Every time you say something that’s offensive to another person, you just caused a discussion. You just forced them to have to think.” I hope I have caused you to think.
