Mental Health

What a drag it is getting old

‘Kids are different today,’ I hear every mother say

Mother needs something today to calm her down

And though she's not really ill, there's a little yellow pill

She goes running for the shelter of her mother's little helper

And it helps her on her way, gets her through her busy day”

That is one side of the coin. The other side saves lives and yes ♥️♥️♥️

Sertraline - Zoloft

Venlafaxine - Effexor

Citalopram - puzzle

Mirtazapine - Remeron

Fluoxetine - Prozac

Duloxetine - Cymbalta

Seroquel - Quetiapine

Lamictal - Lamotrigine

Lexapro - Escitalopram

Wellbutrin - Bupropion

Lorazepam-Ativan

Klonopin - Clonazepam

You may know what these pills are or know a loved one who takes them but just in case you don’t I’ll educate you. This drug allows people to deal with normal everyday life. Even though most days it leaves them tired, spaced out, emotionless or even super emotional.

Crazy, isn't it? Why would anyone want to feel this way?

Well this is why !!

See, some people have severe depression and anxiety.

In their brain it doesn’t sit right, something seems different. They notice little difference that others wouldn't. Most days they wake up sick and feel sleepless.

They constantly overthink every situation.

Was this a comment about them; was it a joke?

Was this person supposed to laugh?

Or did they think so?

Are they nice ?

Are they talking about them?

Are they talking about them?

They think then, bet they don't really like me.

They say sorry all the time. They seem to piss everyone off.

And for all these questions, they will spend hours trying to answer. Let it all build up in their minds, until it sends them to tears...... it's mental that they see things this way.

These aren't just mental changes, but physical changes as well. They don't eat much or they eat way too much. Insomnia, up all night answering questions to situations that don't even exist, or sleeping too much and losing half their day feeling tired.

They still smile and they have every excuse for when you ask why.

But tablets can help them. Because they know when they start feeling that way or thinking that way, they need help.

They know when their behavior starts to change, they need guidance. And they understand they have no need to be ashamed. They don't need to be understood. They just need acceptance. Everyone is fighting a battle and sometimes you have to be kinder.

So maybe I’m just another person talking about mental health....

Living with this disease is hard but trying to figure it out is even harder. It’s also 100x harder if they have another condition on top of that.

Please don't suffer in silence.

#speakout

Mental health is just as important as physical health.

Be a part of the healing.

Be understanding.

Be nice. 🖤❤️🙏🏽
